Poked and Prodded

Well, yesterday and today were filled with doctor appointments. Also, today is the one year anniversary of the administration of my PPD test that would tell me that I have TB (which means in 3 days is my one year anniversary of diagnosis!)

Neurology
So, Monday was my appointment with Neurology in which most of the poking and prodding took place... literally. I was given a full neurological exam which included being poked by needles, touched with big q-tips, figuring out which way my fingers and toes are being pulled, and the all time favorite being able to touch my nose and touch the doctors finger with both hands! HA HA HA!! At the end of this hour long poking and prodding I was able to meet with the neurologist rather then just a family medicine resident. We determined a plan that includes going on a migraine diet, trying new pills, reducing caffeine, and mapping out any and all headaches. All of which I hope will reduce my amount of headaches and make me a much more pleasant person. I am also going to try to reduce the amount of time I sleep (as some of you know I have been really tired lately and thus sleep a lot). Over sleeping can be a migraine trigger as well, so I am trying to get on a healthy schedule. As for follow-up, I have blood tests to check on my liver in a month, and then I guess gather back and see how things are going on the new pills.
Pulmonology
So, today was my day to meet with the pulmonologist which was less comfortable because Brian was not able to go with me this time. I met with the doctor, discussed history, and tried to figure out a plan. While I was there I was given another sitting pulmonary function test (useless as before) and I went to get some blood work to see if I was having any blood clots. On tap for the future will be an echocardiogram to check my heart (again useless). When and if the blood tests and echocardiogram come back fine then I will do an exercise pulmonary function test. If the blood tests or echocardiogram come back with a problem then I will be getting a CT of my chest to look for the problem. Until then I was told to just wait until I was contacted about the echocardiogram which will be who knows when. I am not really confident in this doctor and am willing to just live with the diminished lung capacity rather then be poked and prodded by someone that doesn't believe me anyways. Annoying!!

Well, at least I got into my appointments finally now it is all just a waiting and hoping game!
