This past week I was able to have my Echocardiogram that was suggested by my Pulmonoligist and was also assessed on a stress echo, which is similar to a simple stress test with the addition of the echo. This whole process was such an interesting experience. I was given a gown to wear that had one button and was not allowed anything else, there was approximately 4 people in the small room at a time, and I had approximately 15 wires attached to me all over my body (on that note, I some how ended up going home with one of the sticker things still attached... ha ha ha!).
Anyways, the important part of this story is that my heart looks great and there is nothing wrong with it. The unfortunate part is that at the end of the stress echo I had a coughing fit, couldn't breath, and everyone freaked out. I had an inhaler with me from my dear husband and was able to alleviate the lack of breathing. The doctor concluded the appointment by saying he feels I have exercise induced asthma though he cannot clinically diagnose it since he was not the pulmonologist.
So, my next step is to call the pulmonologist on Tuesday to try and secure an appointment since my blood test and echocardiogram are now done. I hope that he will be nicer then he was at the previous appointment and actually believe that something is happening to me. Oh well, until then... I will just keep on keeping on! :)
you are such a strong person--can't wait to talk to you again soon!
